Rich “Tuck” Tucker has been umpiring in USSSA softball for 19 years. He has faithfully attended every National Umpire Clinics since 1996.
Tuck has served on the Board of Directors for a local league in Southbridge for over 20 years. He has also served as that leagues UIC for the past several years. He has had the opportunity to work several charity tournaments for many different organizations including, Police, Fire, Easter Seals, Autism, and Special Olympics. He is grateful to be able to give back to the communities that he has lived and worked in.
Tuck’s most exciting times in USSSA Softball have come while working the Special Olympics held at Fenway Park. He says the feeling you get when you see the reaction of the individuals succeeding in their efforts to play a game that for so many others take for granted each and every day is incredible.

“I truly believe that if you have the love of the game as I do then you are a great fit for umpiring. You truly get to see the good, the bad and the ugly sides of the game whether you want to or not. I choose to do the 400 plus games that I do each year. I have been blessed to work with many great officials throughout this time.”
