Tammy’s greatest USSSA softball thrill came in 1994 when her B team (CT Bombers) quali-fied for the A Nationals. Her team won every game to until the last game of the winners bracket which they lost. They had to play right away in the losers bracket and won that game in extra innings, putting them in the finals against the team they lost to. They took that game to extra innings, but ultimately lost thus finishing 2nd in the A Nationals
“Softball has been a HUGE part of my life since I was in 5th grade and it has played the biggest role in making me the person I am today. I have learned so much about life from this sport and my many experiences with it both positive and negative. I have learned that life isn't always fair and the calls will not always go your way so I had to learn how to deal with those disappointments. I learned that no matter how hard you try, you will not always come out on top and the true measure of your character is how you handle the losses as well as the wins. I have also learned you can have lots of friends on the opposing teams and in the spirit of competition you want them to play their best against you and you want to leave everything you have on the field trying to beat them and after the game is over, win or lose, you can still be friends and hug each other in the handshaking hands. The best friends I have made throughout my life have definitely been through softball.” -Tammy”
